Chair of London Sustainable Development Commission
The London Sustainable Development Commission was set up in 2002 as an independent advisory body to the Mayor. Its job is to promote integrated, innovative and truly sustainable solutions to the local and global challenges of London’s growth.
We are seeking a new Chair who can bring both drive and practical commitment to sustainability issues. The Chair will lead a group of expert commissioners across a range of sectors, dealing with issues such as climate change, inequality and the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. You will build on the success of the Commission’s recent programme of work, and bring fresh ideas for the future.
We are looking for senior level experience, either directly in the specialised sustainability field, or in a related area. You will need to demonstrate outstanding communication and leadership skills and thrive in a highly political environment. Above all, you will be passionate and creative about what it takes to continue to make London one of the world’s most innovative and sustainable cities.
Please note that interviews for this role will be held after the May 2008 Mayoral elections.
