London Leaders 2015
An inner-city farm which uses fish to grow herbs and salads, a comfort-food café franchise run by nanas, and a shop teaching you how to fix your gadgets are amongst a group of businesses selected as this year’s London Leaders.
The ten new Leaders have been announced by Greg Barker MP, the newly appointed Chair of the London Sustainable Development Commission, the body which advises Mayor of London Boris Johnson on sustainability issues in the capital.
Now in its seventh year the London Leaders programme identifies and nurtures some of the capital’s most exciting and innovative new leaders in sustainable business and communities.
This year there is a strong focus on the contribution of green entrepreneurs to the London economy and the city’s quality of life.
Greg Barker hoped this year’s Leaders would inspire Londoners to see the real commercial potential of green businesses.
He said: “The new London Leaders are an impressive group of bright-minded, entrepreneurial talent. Not only can these businesses thrive in their own right but they will act as a catalyst to others who want to conduct business in a sustainable way.
"The city is already a global centre for green business and the LSDC will take a lead role in ensuring that the capital’s green economy goes from strength to strength."
