Sustainability experience
Richard trained as a biologist and has around 20 years experience of researching the fate and effects of chemicals in the environment. More recently he has been involved in managing health, safety and environmental issues and became involved in sustainability more than 10 years ago whilst working for Shell Chemicals when the company realised it had to take a more sustainable approach to business. Sustainability is at the heart of Richard's work at Transport for London, where the endeavour is to provide London with a world-class transport system.
