Sustainability Experience
Alison has over 15 years of experience in natural environment policy and delivery. She advised on Biodiversity Policy at Defra for a number of years, worked within local government in Scotland and with non-government organisations, starting her career with the RSPB.
Alison is currently Chief Executive at the New Forest National Park.
Previously, Alison was responsible for Natural England's operations in the London Region. In leading the London regional team, Alison had the challenge of connecting people to nature in urban environments and working with partners to help ensure London's natural environment contributes fully to the quality of life of its people. She has also worked as English Nature's Head of Advocacy, leading its advocacy into Whitehall and the team responsible for Parliamentary and European advocacy.
Alison studied Biological Sciences at Oxford and has an MSc in Conservation from UCL.
