Definition of Sustainable Development and why it is important for London
It’s about finding new ways to marry up growth and expansion with renewable and sustainable resources – protecting the planet, the environment and avoiding waste. As a leading world city we want London to both play its part in the combined international effort on climate change and to lead by example through finding new ways of tackling the sustainability challenge. We want London to be the most sustainable city in the world and to show how green ambitions can be realised in a densely populated urban environment.
