    Virtuous Cycles: demonstrating the benefits of a sustainable development approach
    Virtuous cycle thinking can help decision makers plan and deliver objectives in an integrated way. The major advantage is that environmental and social value can be increased at lower whole life cost. This research commissioned by the LSDC uses a number of case studies to illustrate the benefits of taking a virtuous cycle approach to policy and project development.

  • Commission for a Sustainable London 2012 Concludes Assurance
    The assurance body, the Commission for a Sustainable London 2012 (CSL). finishes its work. A full archive of materials and the organisation's achievements can be found here: www.cslondon.org. The website is hosted by the Centre for Research into Sustainability at Royal Holloway University. 

    The LSDC input into the original Olympic & Paralympic bid, stating the need for an assurance body for the London 2012 Games therefore CSL was originally an LSDC sub-group, eventually becoming its own sister body.

  • LSDC publishes Green Means Business: Future-proofing the London economy

    Green Means Business highlights why London is such a good place for green entrepreneurs to base themselves and recommends a growth ambition for the green sector in London of 9 per cent a year, which would create annual sales in the Low Carbon and Environmental Goods and Services sector of over £69bn by 2025.

    The capital’s green economy already generates around £28bn a year, with some 9,000 businesses employing approximately 160,000 people and is currently forecast to grow at a rate of 6 per cent per annum.
